2025 Price Guide for Real Kitchen Sizes By Troy Granite | Newark, Delaware
If you are planning a kitchen renovation in Delaware, one of the first questions you will ask is simple: How much does a granite countertop cost?
The honest answer is that granite pricing depends on more than one number. Your final cost can change based on kitchen size, stone selection, cutouts, sink and faucet needs, removal of existing countertops, plumbing, edge details, and how the fabricator structures the quote.
That is where a lot of homeowners get frustrated.
Many companies advertise promotions like $1,999 for up to 50 square feet, but that kind of pricing can be tricky. If your kitchen is smaller than 50 square feet, you may feel pushed to add other projects — a bathroom vanity, fireplace surround, tabletop, or laundry top — just to make the deal feel worth it. Then once removal, plumbing, sink cutouts, faucet holes, or better colors get added, the “deal” may end up costing more than it first appeared.
At Troy Granite, we take a different approach. We price granite around the way real Delaware kitchens are actually built.
Most small kitchens in Delaware are around 30 square feet, and many average kitchens are closer to 40 square feet. That is why we offer two promotions designed around those sizes — not oversized advertising packages that lead to add-ons later.
Delaware Granite Countertop Costs at a Glance
Granite pricing in Delaware varies depending on the color, slab cost, fabrication complexity, and what is included in the installation package. Here is a realistic range for most projects:
| Project Type | Typical Market Range |
|---|---|
| Small kitchen (~30 sq ft) | $1,500 – $3,000+ |
| Average kitchen (~40 sq ft) | $2,500 – $5,000+ |
| Larger kitchen with island | $4,000 – $8,000+ |
| Bathroom vanity | $500 – $1,500+ |
These numbers vary widely because not every quote includes the same scope of work. Some companies quote just the countertop itself. Others add sink cutouts, removal, plumbing, sealing, sink, or faucet separately. Always look beyond the headline price and ask what is actually included.
Troy Granite’s Granite Countertop Pricing in Delaware
At our Newark location, we offer two main granite specials based on the kitchen sizes we see most often.
$1,499 Granite Special — for small kitchens up to 30 square feet. One of the most competitive granite offers in Delaware, with more color options than many entry-level specials on the market.
$2,999 Granite Special — for kitchens up to 40 square feet. This is where Troy Granite stands apart. If your kitchen is 40 square feet or less, this package is designed to be your complete and accurate price — no pressure to add a side project, no hidden upsell strategy built into an oversized ad.
This package includes:
- Removal of existing countertop and haul-away
- Plumbing disconnect and reconnect
- Granite fabrication and installation
- Sink and faucet
- Premium sealer process
For many Delaware homeowners, this makes it one of the clearest and most practical granite packages available.
Why Some “Up to 50 Sq Ft” Deals Can Be Misleading
A lot of promotional ads in the countertop business are built around one big number. On paper, $1,999 for up to 50 square feet sounds aggressive. In real life, many kitchens do not need 50 square feet. A homeowner with a 30-square-foot kitchen may think they are getting a deal, but the pricing model often nudges them toward adding another project just to use the rest — vanity tops, fireplace pieces, table tops, extra cutouts, plumbing add-ons, and accessory upgrades. By the end, the final total can be much higher than the original ad suggested.
At Troy Granite, we prefer a structure that reflects what Delaware kitchens actually look like.
What Actually Affects Granite Countertop Pricing?
1. Stone Color and Material Cost
We do not use “Level 1,” “Level 2,” or “Level 3” labels because that implies a quality difference between levels — and that is not the right way to look at it. Granite is granite. Price differences come from the raw slab cost, rarity, country of origin, pattern and movement, color demand, and fabrication difficulty.
As a broad guide:
- Basic colors often start around $50–$60 per square foot
- Mid-priced colors are often around $65–$85 per square foot
- Upper-priced colors can range from $90–$200 per square foot
2. Kitchen Size and Layout
A straight run is simpler than an L-shape. A kitchen with multiple sections, an island, or more seams involves more fabrication time. Two kitchens with similar square footage can still price differently depending on layout.
3. Cutouts and Fabrication Details
Every sink cutout, faucet hole, or cooktop cutout adds labor. Always ask whether a quote includes sink cutout, faucet holes, cooktop cutout, edge polishing around openings, and undermount sink labor.
4. Edge Profile
A standard edge is usually included in a package, while decorative profiles — half bullnose, bevel, ogee — often add cost. Confirm what is included before comparing quotes.
5. Removal and Haul-Away
This is one of the most commonly missing items in advertised deals. Troy Granite’s $2,999 package includes removal and haul-away, which is why it should be compared by full scope, not by headline number alone.
6. Plumbing Work
Disconnecting and reconnecting plumbing is often excluded from low advertised prices. Troy Granite includes plumbing in the $2,999 package, giving homeowners a more complete and predictable price.
7. Sealing Process
Troy Granite uses a premium method: after fabrication, we apply a water-based nano sealer in the shop, multiple times, until the stone can absorb no more. This gives the granite a much deeper and more complete seal than a quick one-time wipe after installation — and it is included in the $2,999 package.
Granite vs. Quartz vs. Quartzite
Granite often costs less than quartz on the material side, though natural stone fabrication takes more time and care.
Quartz is an engineered material and typically costs more per slab, but fabrication is usually more predictable.
Quartzite usually costs the most overall. The material itself is more expensive, and fabrication time can be five to six times longer than granite — which is a major reason quartzite pricing runs higher.
The price is never just about the slab. Fabrication time and labor play a major role.
Is Granite Still Worth It in Delaware?
Absolutely. Granite remains one of the smartest long-term countertop investments for homeowners who want a real natural stone surface, strong heat and scratch resistance, a long lifespan, and strong value compared with premium alternatives. It does not go out of style the way trend-driven surfaces do, and it performs well in everyday kitchens.
For many Delaware homes, granite continues to hit the sweet spot between appearance, performance, and price.
